Electric Motors with perma Star Vario
The manual greasing of electric motor bearings must be approached with caution as over greasing can lead to grease contamination of the motor windings. Grease escape valves or holes should be used which allow excess and aged grease to escape from the bearing cavity.
Grease selection is important for electric motors, particularly for large motors where the speed factors are high.
Automatic lubricators provide an ideal solution to electric motor bearing lubrication by ensuring against both over-lubrication and lubricant starvation. Electro-mechanical lubricators such as the perma STAR Vario are often preferred in order to ensure that grease dosing is accurate.
